At last we can launch the First Draft of the plans. Please feel free to contact us to get filled in with further understanding as to why something is here or not here.
Broadly we are limited by a number of constraints:
- Keeping the cost down to “around the same as the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale” - £1.5m.
- Keeping as much of the Ballroom, Wing Rooms and Stage Area unchanged.
- Providing a Theatre AND an open space for other activities.
- Providing Disabled Access.
- Providing a Goods Lift (the position of the doors in this design is not right).
- Providing adequate storage space for chairs, movable staging pieces and other items.
- Providing enough loos for Theatre (60% of the audience are female, I space for every 20 plus 1) This means that for 400 people we needed 13 Female loos and about 3 for males!
